Advisory Committee

To ensure the GSCO2 scientific research leads to industry deployable technology, science and industry are represented. GSCO2 has committees and procedures for internal scientific and technical review; however, external review is an important aspect of the management of the GSCO2.

Consequently, there are two external advisory committees to represent the interests of science and industry: the Science Advisory Council (SAC) and the Industry Advisory Board (IAB).

The SAC is made of members of the scientific community who are in the basic sciences but are not necessarily active in CO2-storage-related research; members of this council are anticipated to be from universities and national labs.
The IAB members represent companies and organizations that are directly involved with commercial CO2 storage projects or actively involved with CCS in general and can offer a clear, candid, and relevant perspective of industry expectations or the application of current storage technology.
